the duties and responsibilities of Masonic Lodge officers

:Worshipful Master

- **Duties and Responsibilities**: 

  - Presides over lodge meetings.

  - Ensures that Masonic laws, rules, and regulations are observed.

  - Represents the lodge in official functions.

  - Appoints committees and directs lodge activities.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Worshipful Master is a square, symbolizing morality, truthfulness, and honesty.


Senior Warden

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Assists the Worshipful Master in the governance of the lodge.

  - Takes charge of the lodge in the absence of the Worshipful Master.

  - Manages the work of the Junior Warden and supervises the lodge's financial affairs.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Senior Warden is the level, symbolizing equality.


Junior Warden

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Supervises the Stewards and the arrangement of the lodge's social functions.

  - Ensures that the members observe proper conduct during refreshment.

  - Assumes the duties of the Worshipful Master or Senior Warden in their absence.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Junior Warden is the plumb, symbolizing uprightness.


Treasurer

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Manages the lodge's financial accounts and records.

  - Receives all moneys paid into the lodge and makes payments as directed.

  - Prepares financial reports for the lodge.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Treasurer is crossed keys, symbolizing the lodge's finances.


Secretary

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Records the minutes of all lodge meetings.

  - Handles correspondence and maintains lodge records.

  - Manages the membership records and communication.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Secretary is crossed quills, symbolizing communication.


Senior Deacon

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Assists the Worshipful Master and carries messages between the Worshipful Master and Senior Warden.

  - Conducts candidates during degree ceremonies.

  - Maintains order and decorum within the lodge.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Senior Deacon is a square and compass with a sun in the center, symbolizing light and guidance.


Junior Deacon

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Assists the Junior Warden and carries messages between the Junior Warden and Senior Warden.

  - Guards the inner door of the lodge and ensures that only qualified persons enter.

  - Aids in maintaining order during meetings.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Junior Deacon is a square and compass with a moon in the center, symbolizing watchfulness.


Stewards (Senior and Junior)

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Assist the Junior Warden in preparing the lodge for meetings and refreshment.

  - Help in conducting candidates during degree ceremonies.

  - Attend to the needs of the lodge members during gatherings.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Stewards is a cornucopia, symbolizing abundance and nourishment.


Chaplain

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Offers prayers and invocations at lodge meetings and ceremonies.

  - Provides spiritual support to the lodge members.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Chaplain is an open book, symbolizing holy scriptures and spiritual guidance.


Tyler

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Guards the outer door of the lodge and ensures that only qualified individuals gain entry.

  - Prepares the lodge room for meetings.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Tyler is a sword, symbolizing protection and vigilance.


Marshal

- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

  - Ensures proper arrangement of processions and ceremonies.

  - Guides visitors and members during lodge functions.

- **Jewel**: The jewel of the Marshal is two crossed batons, symbolizing the authority to lead and direct.
